a new season
kayla started back at school the last week of july. i can’t believe she is in first grade! her teacher seems very nice and kayla likes her very much.
thomas just started preschool today. he is going to the same preschool that kayla went to. we know several families from kayla’s classes, who are now sending their next child to preschool also. it is great seeing how much the little babies have grown and their budding personalities.
he didn’t cry when i dropped him off. he didn’t even look back for me.
that’s okay, because i didn’t cry either :).
one day, before school, i was telling kayla that i wasn’t sure what i was going to do when both her and thomas were at school.
k: i know, you’re going to party because you don’t have to hear us whine all the time.
m: that’s not true. you guys don’t whine all the time!
however, it is true that i’ve decided to take august and september off for myself. maybe i’ll scrapbook, take pictures, sew, learn french, read some fiction, sleep… you know me - i am such a party animal
i am going to enjoy this time i have because pretty soon, i will be starting all over again.
we are excited for baby number 3 due to arrive february 27, 2010.

much love for easter
a few favorites from our trip home.
they are truly cousins, and yet look so different. the kids had so much fun with peyton. thomas keeps asking to go play with him again.
dyeing easter eggs at nana’s. the kids were filled with lots of goodies. thanks making it so fun!
they loved that the park was right across the street.
a favorite, taken by kayla.
a few from easter.
the third or fourth time, used the timer. that was actually pretty fun. and i heart this picture so much.
lots of fun with the wii.
we had a great trip.
we miss you all so much.
we’ll have to try to convince you all to move to arizona ![]()

festival and festival
on friday, we met some friends at the park. they are in our bible study group so they also saw us on thursday night. i had to laugh when my friend asked me how many lightning mcqueen shirts thomas has. that’s because he wore one on thursday and a different one on friday. he also has a hat, a watch, many different sizes of their cars - and maybe a “tad” more things. but he still loves them.
speaking of our bible study group, the kids are all boys, except for kayla and one little baby girl, whose still under a year. kayla asked why we couldn’t have any girls for her to play with. so we told her, the criteria for the next family to join us is that they must have a daughter kayla’s age. i’m sure God would understand
later that day, i took the kids to our town’s ostrich festival. they had such a good time - going on rides, watching pig races, riding a real pony, eating hot dogs, seeing a clown show. lots and lots of smiles from these two.
today, we went to an aloha festival. it was pretty crowded but we still had a good time. tom kept remarking what a beautiful day out it was.
this here is my little family, who i am so in love with.

about last week
on valentine’s day, we had babysitting duty for friends of ours. there is one precious little baby, who looks exactly like the baby on the biggie smalls cd cover. he is ADORABLE. he makes me so desperately want to have another.
tom disagrees.
he is so hard head.
the next morning, we drove up north again for some snow. last time, it was chilly but comfortable. this time, it was biting cold and the snow was hard and icy. brrrr… i know we both grew up in the midwest, but boy! we have definitely become accustomed to warm weather.
and, i forgot my camera.
which never happens.
i felt so naked.
not really.
even though we were only gone a couple of days, the kids were so happy to get back home. they were like, ” it’s good to be home. it’s good to be home. ”
how are they going to handle being at the grandparents for 2 weeks this summer?
the garage door opener is broken. tom tried to fix it. it sat on my kitchen counter for 6 days.
yes, that bothered me.
for 5 whole days, i didn’t say anything about it.
i know, i’m a saint.
hey! who’s laughing?
kayla lost her $10 that grandma sent her for Vietnamese New Year. she was mad because thomas still had his $10 and i wouldn’t let him share it with her. i told her that i would be upset if i lost money, too. the next morning, she said:
k: mommy, losing $10 is not something to be sad about.
m: really? why not?
k: it’s worse if you lose your brother or your mom or your dad.
and, she’s absolutely 100% right.
on wednesday, we registered thomas for preschool. he’ll start in the fall and go to the same school as kayla did.
when tom came home, i cried and told him i wasn’t ready for my baby to start school.
he rolled his eyes and turned on the tv and said, ” no, we’re not having another one. ”
did i mention he was hard head?
this is my picture for friday. i actually took it on saturday morning. i know it’s cheating, but i swear it looked just like this on friday.
he has a fever.
and he’s whiney.
i don’t like whiney.
yeah, well, he’s still a keeper
kayla brought all her stuffed animals down to play veternarian. after she gave each animal a check-up, she marked it down in a chart.note the doctor’s glove, pink and sparkly.
this morning, she was honored during the flag ceremony at her school. she didn’t want to walk up on stage but she did it. we are so proud of her.
hope everyone is well.
